heh -- several people made this comment. the default is now white,
and the background can be adjusted in the preferences dialog

printer fonts vs X fonts is a real problem. i've added a checkbox in
the preferences dialog that will show all fonts that gnome-print has
found. (check it, then create a new view or document). on my machine,
most of the font loads fail and i end up with the default. how does
it work for you? Probably what i need to be doing is asking
gnome-print about the size of words (with gnome_font_get_width_string),
and attempting to find X fonts that come as close (but don't go over).

several people have said this, as well. if gnome-libs doesn't provide
a way to do it, i'll build a way to switch keybindings into gwp. it
currently has emacs-like keybindings.

does this fail? i can cut and paste between xterms and gwp...?

ok -- i'll add this to the TODO list and think about how to get it
to work.

comments are most welcome.
