how to install rpmfind?

I fetched the latest version of rpmfind from rufus.w3.org (version 1.2 for
PPC) and installed the rpm but I keep getting the same error message:

rpmfind rpmfind
cannot open file //var/lib/rpm/triggerindex.rpm:
cannot open the RPM local database

Obviously there is an installation error but I can't figure out what I need
to do. Any help will be appreciated.
