FXTransformerDesigner allows you to design both power and RF transformers. The power
designer offers some common defaults for both line frequency, and for the core
operating flux density. However, you are always free to enter your own specifications
as design requirements. The designer will allow you to enter up to five secondaries.
(Unusual you'd require more than that for most solid-state, or even VT designs).
The designer will return the volts-per-turn ratio in addition to the required
number of turns, so that determining any required tap-offs is made easier. Wire
gage (AWS) is determined on the basis of the operating Circular Mils Per Amp
specification. (The default is 700 Cm/Amp)

The RF designer incorporates a catalog of 82 of the most common toroids for low
frequency to VHF work. You may either select a core from the database, or enter
the specs for a "custom" core if you don't find anything suitable in the catalog.
You can select from any of six different configurations of RF transformers.

The application also includes a database manager that you can use to review the
core catalog, make new entries, or delete old ones. The database manager
takes care of updating the application registry so it will always track the
contents of the database.

FXTransformerDesigner does the electronic design *only*; it does not do any
physical design. Further information is available via the on-line help,
