Summary: FXTurns-n-Layers is a graphical design aid for transformers & coils.
This program, FXTurns-n-Layers, is a graphical application design aid for tran-
sformers and induction coils. It will allow you to easily calculate the amount
of wire required to wind any coil with a given number of turns. The program will
also tell you what the coil's finished dimensions will be. Most important to de-
termine whether or not the coil will fit on the form. It will also calculate the
coil's total resistance.

An additional feature is the ability to calculate the number of turns that may
be wound, given a certain length of wire. This is most helpful in the design of
induction coils. Due to the nature of induction coils, the loose coupling and
open core construction, it is not possible to calculate in advance the number of
turns the secondary should have. It is usually more important to see how many
turns it is possible to wind with some specific amount of wire that may be on h-
and.

It should be understood that FXTurns-n-Layers does not calculate the *electrical*
properties of an induction coil or transformer winding, just the physical chara-
cteristics.

Further information about FXTurns-n-Layers is available from the program's on-
line help (select from the main menu or toolbar).
